This dreamy Edwardian necklace is reminiscent of the lavalier necklaces popular during the turn of the 20th Century, with its delicate gemstone-set pendant and river pearl drop. Yet this piece was made on a more dramatic scale. The pendant is composed of two panels of scrolling sterling silver filigree, linked to create graceful movement. The silver is set with lovely Siberian amethyst and pearls, then finished with a river pearl drop at the bottom. The lacy filigree, delicate lavender color of the amethysts and the creamy glow of the pearls make this necklace so feminine and romantic. Circa 1910.
Siberian amethyst has "fingerprint" inclusions, visible under magnification, that are the signature of these highly prized gemstones.
Details.....The sterling silver rolo chain measures 17" long. The pendant measures 3.3" long and 1" wide. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces, we consider it part of the charm.
